Dispensing with the past on album ‘Hypnotische’ released earlier in the year on Ransom Note, Daniel Hermmann now looks into the future with his new Flug 8 project. His most dance-floor friendly work to date for the label, the Offenbach based producer’s ‘Space Techno’ EP is a rich tapestry of atypical soundscapes and an epic synthesis of ambient and dub techno to accompany your flight into the outer planetary nether regions.

Continuing Daniel’s obsession with air travel, this time reaching into further galaxies, the EP kicks off with ‘Spacemodulation’, the perfect soundtrack to your intergalactic journey through the cosmos. It’s an emotional heartbreak with twisted counter melodies, extended organ chords, subtle hints of acid and winding percussion. One epic journey that has it all.

Gliding in next is ‘Autopilot’, some essential Flug 8 material with a kaleidoscopic twist & intrusive diversion - a flick of the switch to appreciate the landscapes in breathtaking environments, before detonating into an astronomical brain-melter.

‘Polarprojecktion’ moulds it’s path with luscious keys and minimal delayed drums, that circulate around your cranium for the duration. During the second minute, Daniel takes us to another planet with gripping drones and shuffling hats. Ouch!

‘Magnetometer’ closes the release with some immense bleep techno that evolves into an epic 5am sway. A sweeping layer glides effortlessly above, emphasising the psychedelic timbre. Seamlessly, every component ties you in - eyes closed - into a romantic crescendo. Again please.

Space Techno is a deep exploration of exactly that. Melding lush pads, melodies, drones and kick drums that keep you coming back for more, it’s an EP where each track blossoms into something that’s equally spectacular.
